Competition Winning Pupil Artwork Displayed In John Lewis Store
Creative students in West Norfolk will have their artwork in public view in a shop’s window display across the summer.
The pupils from Howard Junior School, in King’s Lynn, will have their illustrations displayed in the windows of the Peterborough John Lewis, as part of a national competition asking schoolchildren to draw local people who have a positive impact on their lives.
More than 7,000 entries were submitted to stores across the country and Howard’s winning drawings will now be on display until September 1.
Eight-year-old Akvile Jasinskyte’s drawing of a local female police officer was among those handpicked.
She said: “I would like to be a police officer when I am older. I am inspired by the female officers I see on the street.”
Other Howard pupils Ethan Cook, Rejus Zakjas, Billie-Jai Eagle and Ekaterina Simanovica also had their illustrations chosen.
