Howard Junior School success at local education awards ceremony
Hosted by the Lynn News, a local and long-standing newspaper, the education awards returned after a long absence with Howard Junior School in the running for multiple awards. The school reached the final three in a number of categories including: Active School of the Year, Primary School of the Year, Inspirational Teacher of the Year (for which the school had two nominations) and Support Staff Member of the year.
Howard Junior Staff collected a certificate for runners-up in the Primary School of the Year award.
Headteacher Gregory Hill was awarded the prestigious accolade of ‘Inspirational Teacher of the Year’ for his work towards ensuring all children in the school receive the very best opportunities at all times.

Gregory was given his award by Cllr Stuart Dark MBE, Leader of West Norfolk Borough Council.
Beaming with happiness, Gregory said: “I’m delighted to win, I’ve been in education for many, many years, I’ve given dedicated service to the children of King’s Lynn and its lovely to receive this recognition.”
Mr Hill has been teaching for over 15 years, he’s provided technology 1:1 for children and has had many TV and Radio appearances advocating the importance of education.

Howard Junior School’s Year 4 teacher, still in her first year of teaching, Chloe Regester was also pleased to have reached the final for the Inspirational Teacher of the Year award.
Other runners-up included school business manager Tracey Link, who had been nominated in the ‘Support Staff Member of the Year’ category.

Howard Junior School was also awarded a runners-up certificate in the Active School of the Year category for the tireless work that goes into ensuring every child is celebrated for keeping active and for developments the school has made to ensure equipment and ample opportunities are on offer for children to stay fit and healthy.

Overall, it was a highly successful awards ceremony for the school, celebrating the hard work that goes on and has continued through a difficult previous couple of years in education.
